In Transit - A Vlog
Here’s a video I put together of the trip from Newcastle to Göttingen, with cameos by many (though not all) of the bloggers here on Adventures in Germanyland.
In other news, faithful Tumblrites, we are FINALLY HERE! Let the adventures begin!

WHERE IS THIS? I want to visit it!!
this is all getting pretty exciting now, hey. i have accommodation all set up in meersburg from april-september paying rent for some other student couple’s apartment while they’re away. it’s in one of those places in the picture - and those are castles. we’ve got a couch and a floor to sleep on, if anyone’s willing to trade floors during travel! i was thinking about cancelling my booking for the month long language course and cruising around germany instead, but then i remembered that i will be IN germany and i may as well get to know the place i am living in…
and we should blog in german.
Some more Berlin graffiti from January 2007. March 1st is edging closer and closer. Less than two and a half months. I think it’s actually seventy days now. Ten weeks! OH MY GOODNESS.
I was less than enamoured of our rather nothing-looking plane tickets. They’re just the itinerary. I know, I know, tickets don’t really look as ticket-y as in the movies - those are boarding passes. I have flown before. But it just didn’t seem real enough. So I got out my collaging paper and glue stick and silver marker and made my own, more official looking (but less legally legitimate) ticket, to celebrate the fact that we are so almost very close to being on that plane.

Dear Everyone:
This is getting out of hand. No more talking about German Knitting unless I say we can talk about German Knitting again.
And if any of you choose it as a subject at University next year, well we can talk about that will have to review your options.
